Fish again!

I managed to leave one of my fillet knives down on the gravel bar where I went to fish the last time. Bummer! that meant that I had to go back. Sigh! Oh well, nothing for it but to do it. Today seemed like as good a time as any. There was no sense in just going down there, getting the knife and heading back, so I took my fishing rod and this time I also took a few worms from the lawn along to see what wanted to eat those.

It was a bit cool, only about 66 degrees when I arrived and the water seemed to be a bit cooler than I remember last time, but not much cooler than the temps of the air. I first used a plastic Crawdad by Berkley, and caught another trout that was hanging in the fast water. That seemed to be the only one still here, and then caught my limit of Smallmouth Bass with the Crawdad. I switched to the worms, and began to catch Channel Catfish.

I managed to find my knife, and the trout would make a nice dinner cooked in my Smoker, so I loaded up and headed back home.

The carcasses that were left over after filleting, were added to my garden plants that had been waiting for the morning frosts to stop. We had bought some tomatoes, zucchini, Peppers and melons last week, but of course frost was predicted, so I waited until today to plant them.

Well the trout is done, so dinner is served.
