First flight of June 2018

I've been a little distracted lately, and really haven't done a damn thing other than sit around wishing I was doing something. Of course the weather has been a bit crappy, but that really isn't an excuse. Primarily it is because I have no one here to take up the slack if I don't come back. Prior years Karen was here to monitor the radio, and if I got in trouble, she could send help or what ever was needed. Now of course there is no one, and for the most part no one know when I go flying or where I might be going.

I decided today that my best bet is to just leave the doors open for the critters so that they can come and go as they wish. That way if I don't return within the normal time, they can at least get outside to do what ever they need, and it would also give them enough time for someone to realize in a day or two that things are not normal, and check on them. I am not all that worried about what happens to me, but I would hate to be incapacitated somewhere knowing that my critters are locked in the house.

I flew to the Alvord and back across the Sheepheads. I flew for 1 hour and 24 minutes, using 4 gallons of fuel and averaging 67 MPH, traveling 88 miles. My normal routine when making a video is to do a rough cut with the Virb edit program which gives me the speed, altitude, heading and a track. Unfortunately I fell victim to an update in the program and that information seems to no longer be available. That information and the ability to speed up the clip speed of the video was the two reasons that I even used the program at all. I knew better, but I did it anyway. Sigh!
